Style Essentials: The Jean

What could be more essential than the perfect pair of jeans? Basically our year-round uniform, we are sharing our top 4 favorite styles of denim that every woman should have in her closet. Each style can be dressed up or down and can transition from season to season with ease. Our top picks include the boyfriend, the trendy crop, a classic skinny and a 70's-esque flare-- because why choose just one pair when they're all so fabulous? Update your jean collection with a pair that has a super light wash, some edgy distressing, a raw hem or some unique detailing, like zippers up the ankle! As always, pair some of your favorite pieces already in your closet with a couple new ones to make your wardrobe seem new and exciting.

THE BOYFRIEND

Embrace your inner tomboy with a great pair of boyfriend jeans. Paired with a basic tee and sneaker for that cool, model-off-duty look or with a silk cami and a strappy heel for that effortlessly sexy vibe, the boyfriend jean is a must have.

THE CROP

Show some ankle ladies! As much as we love the classics, the crop is one of those trends we will hop on the bandwagon for. Paired with an ankle boot, a heel or a cool sneak and a classic button up or tee, the crop has won us over.

THE SKINNY

We couldn't leave out this classic style. The jean you can wear with any shoe, any time of day, and with any top. Already have a fave skinny? Look for an ultra distressed pair, a new wash, or one with some added details (like a zippered ankle) to freshen up your skinny collection.

THE FLARE

Our final must have style is the iconic flare. You can be bold and opt for the widest leg you can find or stick with a more subtle flare. A tank and a sandal or an airy button up and a heel, the flare goes from day to night, no problem.

Tula's Travel Essentials

Now that it's officially summer and Fourth of July weekend is just around the corner, we thought we'd give you a blog featuring some of our favorite and most necessary travel essentials! No matter the destination, these 10 must-have items are always in our suitcase!

1. A Chic Travel Outfit

A great pair of jeans and a basic tee are an easy, yet classic go-to. Throw on a fedora, a comfortable shoe and some sunnies for that extra cool factor-- you'll look like a total jetsetter.

2. A Versatile Bag

The perfect bag can easily transition from day to night and will go with every outfit in your suitcase.

3. A Killer Pair of Sunglasses

We never leave the house without ours, rain or shine. Sunnies not only protect your eyes from harmful rays, but also keeps you looking like a cool local, never a tourist.

4. The Little Black Dress

Can you really go anywhere without a LBD? Even if you don't have a formal dinner or night out on your itinerary, pack your flattering LBD just in case. We'd rather bring a bigger suitcase than have nothing to wear any day.

5. Moisturizing Spray

Our go-to is definitely the French-made, leather K Jacques sandal. With so many different styles, there is a pair for everyone. 8. A Great Pair of Denim

Is there anything we love more than a fantastic jean? Jeans are always in our suitcase because they go with everything and they can be dressed up or down with the change of a few accessories. Whether your fave pair is a skinny, a slouchy boyfriend or a trendy flare, make sure to bring a pair or two on your next trip for an easy outfit.

9. A Statement Accessory

We love the idea of a belt as a "wear-with-all" accessory, especially one with edgy studding or bohemian turquoise. A belt instantly takes a tee and jeans from being two basics to being an ensemble. And with a stand out belt, who needs jewelry? That's smart packing.

10. A Light Jacket

No matter your destination, we always bring a jacket while traveling. Wear it on the plane over your tee and jeans or drape it over your shoulder on a chilly night on the way to dinner. You never know what the weather is going to do and although your hubby's jacket is always nice, ours are way cuter.

Timeless and versatile, there is a white pant for any age, body type and style! You can never go wrong with white tank with a white linen pant for a fresh, crisp summer look, a white trouser and a funky tee for a casual look or a white flare with a chunky knit for chilly fall and winter days. Whatever your style, the white pant always looks clean and cool. Our Style Essentials: The Sneaker

Continuing our style essentials series, our second must-have is a cool sneaker. From classic converse, to elaborate leather and suede trainers, the sneaker trend is in full swing What's not to love? Comfortable and chic, the sneaker gives any outfit an effortless vibe. The thing we love most about a great pair of sneaks? They go with EVERYTHING. Pair with a knotted maxi or denim mini, a wide leg trouser and a simple tank, denim cut off's and a vintage tee or a skinny jean and a blazer, this shoe will take you from dressy to casual and back, no problem. With so many styles to choose from-- the high top, the trainer, the slip on, the platform-- there is a pair for every woman's style. Sneakers make a statement, giving off the "I just threw this together" vibe. Our Style Essentials: The Blazer

In the words of Garance Dore, " Every season, every occasion, everywhere. A basic, beautifully cut blazer goes with absolutely everything, never gets old and always adds a sophisticated touch". We could not agree more! A blazer can be dressed up or down, made to look classic or edgy and NEVER goes out of style. That's why we are firm believers that the essential blazer is made of high quality fabric, sports a classic design-- think a single button closure in a feminine yet modest fit-- and of course is black. We love a good gray or white blazer too, don't get us wrong, but every woman should have one timeless black blazer hanging in her closet.

One of our favorites is the Satin Jacket by Italian designer duo, Giada_Forte. The designer presents timeless pieces, feminine and delicate, produced with the finest Italian fabrics and enriched with special finishes and precious hand-made details. This jacket is what we'd call an investment piece. It might seem like a pricey item at the time of purchase-- but the craftsmanship, versatility and effortlessness will make the cost-per-wear totally worth it.

Blue Jean Baby

There is nothing quite like your favorite pair of jeans. Comfortable, flattering and worn in just the way you like them. We'd do pretty much anything to get our hands on the perfect jean, and with so many great options this season, we've found some amazing styles that we adore! In fact, we are completely smitten with ALL things denim. Tops, skirts, shorts, shoes-- we love it all. We were inspired by photos of crisp button ups, paired with a slouchy pair of jeans or cut offs; a chambray button up, effortlessly tucked into an A line skirt or tied around the waist paired with a tee and a cool leather bag.
