This past week, editors, bloggers and fashion lovers alike all flocked to New York City for Fashion Week where top designers debuted their 2013 Fall/Winter Collections. We might be thousands of miles away in Colorado but here at Tula we’re stalking the runway shows online and loving the beautiful new pieces from designers we carry. Inspired by Vogue’s article “What to Wear Where”, along with all the wonderful LBDs we currently have in store, this week we put together three simple looks each featuring a timeless black dress suitable for three very different occasions.

Free People’s Mystic Oracle dress is fun and funky, perfect for a weekend night out in Old Town.

Elizabeth and James New Kimono dress is perfect for strolling through galleries on First Friday.

The amazingly elegant and utterly timeless Micha dress from A.L.C. is sure to stun at black tie events or an evening spent at a play in Denver.

Whatever the occasion Tula is sure to have the perfect little black dress.

It is a fact that we are constantly looking for something new for each season, event, party, concert…really any occasion we can buy something new for.

So why don’t we see anything that goes together in our closet?

We sometimes don’t think about all the possibilities when it comes to our clothes…mixing and matching, what colors go together, what colors don’t go together,accessorizing…it can seem like a daunting task.

Deb, our style expert, is here to save the day, in her first of many “how to’s”

This week? How to style your fall outfit, learn to mix and match!

Step 1: Put on some pants (on our lovely mannequin, the Free People Destroyed Skinny Cord is the perfect fall color-oxblood!)

Step 2: Add a shirt (we chose NSF Quintin Plaid Shirt)

Step 3: it’s fall, add a sweater! (like our two way A.L.C. Open Back Sweater)

Step 4: Deb felt too matchy-matchy, so she switched pants. (She chose Hudson Nico Mid Rise Super Skinnys)

Step 5: Need to re think the entire outfit? Try a light denim jacket as a shirt; it’s casual and it will totally change your look ( like our Mother The Bully Jacket)

Step 6: Try another sweater that you’ve been wanting to show off but haven’t found the right outfit (like our super cozy rag & bone Amy Pullover)

Step 7 (hang on, we’re almost there): Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!! (One of our fun Remi and Reid Beyond Neon Belts is sure to start conversation)
